Hiking - Göscheneralpsee, 1'789Mslm, 3.09.2024

Göscheneralpsee, 1'789Mslm, Circular Route 3.09.2024

I'd had this hike in the back of my mind for a couple of years and finally decided to do it when I had a couple of days free back in September.

The starting point of the hike is only about an hours drive from my house and it's already a totally different world away from where I live, a different language, and above all entirely different landscape being right in the center of the Alps.

The hike is a very easy one, around 10km long with 460m of elevation gain, and it took me just under 4 hours which I took very easy and stopping many time for photos and a quick lunch break. I also stopped a few times just to admire the truly amazing landscape and have vowed to return perhaps next year and shoot it again with a medium format or digital camera.

I'm not too sure about the film stock I chose for these shots, Kodak Double XX, which I had lying around for quite a while and wanted to use it before it expired. The shots all seem a little underexposed even though it was quite a dull day.

All shots made on my Leica M2 and 35mm Summilux Pre Asph, and developed in Kodak Xtol.
