London - April 2024

 London - 2024

Last week I spent a few days in London just hanging around, exploring new places that I've never seen or been to and just generally seeing how the city is changing and evolving.

I stayed in East London, at Stepney Green on Mile End Road, an area I kind of know a little having lived there back in the mid 80's.

The first whole day I spent walking 25km from Peckham in South London up to Hackney then back down to Whitechapel.

The second day I walked down to Limehouse Basin then walked up to Tower Bridge then around the city for another 20km's.

The third day I visited Kew Gardens for the 2nd time, 19 years after my first visit. I really enjoyed the Rock Garden and Treetop Walkway which wasn't there last time.

After I returned to central London to visit Gee Vaucher's exhibition at the Horse Hospital, a small independent art gallery just around the corner from Russel Square. She was responsible for most of the artwork and record covers from the band Crass who had a big influence on me back in the early 80's.

I then walked back to Stepney Green passing through the city and exploring even more, which, well, just never ends...

All shots made with a Fujifilm X100VI.

  1. These images bring me back to the past .....ghostly and eerie at times, but rather inspiring
